In rolls the catchy, rootsy harmony chorus calling out corruption and evil intentions of politicians that jockey for position in the Babylon system. “Your system is a fraud!”, he chants through the bridge and interlude over the horn and synth line calling out the fraudulent leaders. He leads his fiery singjay verse blazing out against two faced politicians who only use their empty words, false promises, and dirty tactics to fill their pockets while keeping the people divided. Ras Mikey continues to call for uniting the people to tear down, and chant down Babylon walls inna Modern Roots style. The Forward stepping rockers tune was written and produced by Ras Mikey and Sam Ites and released under the name of their new collaborative production effort BDB. Besides some keyboard overdubs provided by Jamie ’Jammah’ Compehos, all live instruments (bass, drums, guitars, keys, percussion) and back up vocals were performed by Sam Ites. Recorded at Ites Studio in Manoa Valley (Honolulu), Hawaii. The artwork and design was created by Ras Mikey in a simplified punk style red/black/white cover paying tribute, and also a nod to the Bad Brains Banned in DC graphic. There are plans to release a limited amount of 7”in vinyl records of the single in the near future.
